Ecotherapy Sessions
What is Ecotherapy?
Ecotherapy, often referred to as nature therapy or forest therapy, is the intentional practice of reconnecting with the natural world to support your emotional, mental, and physical well-being. It is rooted in the understanding that humans are not separate from nature; we are a part of it. When we step outside for guided forest bathing (inspired by the Japanese tradition of shinrin-yoku), we invite the nervous system to drop out of fight-or-flight mode and return to a state of calm, clarity, and ease.
Unlike traditional talk therapy confined to four walls, somatic ecotherapy uses the natural world as a living partner in the healing process. Sessions incorporate mindfulness in nature, sensory awareness, and somatic grounding practices that quiet a racing mind and gently bring you back into your body. The focus isn't on fixing or analyzing, but on slowing down to mirror nature’s natural cycles of rest, growth, and renewal.
This nature-based healing takes many forms, from immersive local nature walks and one-on-one forest therapy sessions to community circles and self-guided practices. Ultimately, it offers a pressure-free space to breathe, rediscover your rhythm, and remember that you already belong here.
How long are the sessions?
Our virtual ecotherapy sessions are offered in a 60-minute format, giving you the space to move at a pace and depth that feels right for you. Each custom session is designed as a focused and restorative experience—a dedicated chance for somatic grounding, mindful reflection, and a gentle reconnection with the natural world right where you live.
You’ll be guided through intentional outdoor mindfulness practices and moments of quiet reflection to support nervous system regulation and stress relief. Afterward, you will receive personal integration notes via email to help you seamlessly carry the calm and clarity of this healing experience into your daily life and routine.
How do you create my recording?
Each custom audio forest bathing recording begins with a brief exploratory call or questionnaire to clarify your unique needs, goals, and wellness intentions. From there, I craft a 60-minute self-guided ecotherapy session designed specifically for your journey. Your experience begins with a settling-in process and guided breathwork to support nervous system regulation, followed by gentle prompts to observe and connect with the natural world. You’ll have dedicated time for quiet reflection, paired with outdoor mindfulness tools to help quiet a racing mind and deepen your awareness. The immersion closes with a supportive integration practice to help carry these insights forward.
You’ll receive your personalized session as a downloadable audio file—a portable source of somatic grounding and stress relief you can return to whenever you need a reset. Along with the audio, you’ll receive digital session notes and simple, repeatable nature therapy practices to help you sustain a healing connection to the earth wherever you are, providing a consistent tool for ongoing burnout recovery.
How does the video call work?
Your virtual ecotherapy session is designed to bring the profound healing benefits of nature and mindful connection directly to you, no matter where you are located. Before our call, you will receive an email with simple guidance for preparing your space, ideally outdoors or near a window where you can easily see, hear, or feel the natural world.
At our scheduled time, we will connect through a live video call to begin a guided 60-minute experience. This custom immersion incorporates intentional breathwork, sensory awareness, and outdoor mindfulness practices tailored specifically to your unique goals and immediate environment. You will be invited to engage with your surroundings in real time, using the natural world as a somatic mirror for stress relief and personal insight.
After the session, you will receive personal integration notes via email outlining simple, everyday takeaway tools. These tailored nature therapy practices are designed to help you sustain your progress, support ongoing burnout recovery, and maintain a lasting sense of calm and clarity long after our call ends.
Are the sessions personalized?
Yes. Every virtual nature therapy session is completely customized to meet your unique goals, physical comfort, and mental health needs. Before we connect, we will discuss what you are hoping to experience or explore—whether your primary focus is burnout recovery, navigating a major life transition, or learning practical tools for nervous system regulation.
Your experience is then custom-tailored around those personal intentions and the specific season of life you are moving through. Because no two journeys are identical, each private online ecotherapy session meets you exactly where you are that day, allowing your surrounding environment and your own inner awareness to guide the somatic healing process.
What happens after the session?
After your virtual ecotherapy session ends, you’re invited to stay in nature a little longer to walk, sit, or practice quiet observation. Many clients find that the most meaningful insights arise in those quiet moments afterward, when there’s no rush to disconnect. I encourage you to give yourself that dedicated time to reflect, journal, or simply practice outdoor mindfulness, letting the healing experience settle naturally.
Once our call is complete, I’ll send personal integration notes via email outlining the custom tools, somatic practices, and reflections we explored. These notes are meant to help you integrate what you experienced and carry that vital sense of calm, clarity, and stress relief into your everyday life and career.
Ecotherapy is a somatic practice that is most transformative when experienced regularly. You’re encouraged to revisit your digital audio recording or schedule recurring online sessions as part of your ongoing wellness routine—a sustainable way to maintain nervous system regulation, support burnout recovery, and stay grounded through every season.
