What is Ecotherapy?

Ecotherapy is the practice of reconnecting with the natural world as a way to support emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing. It’s rooted in the understanding that humans are not separate from nature, we are part of it. When we spend intentional time outdoors, we begin to remember that connection. The pace of the natural world invites us to slow down, regulate our nervous system, and find calm and clarity in the present moment.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, ecotherapy uses nature itself as the setting and partner in the healing process. Sessions often include guided reflection, mindfulness, sensory awareness, and grounding practices that help quiet the mind and bring us back to the body. The focus isn’t on analyzing or fixing, but on noticing and experiencing. In nature, we can see our own cycles mirrored, like the change, rest, growth, and renewal that remind us we’re not meant to be in constant motion.

Ecotherapy can take many forms, from guided group experiences and one-on-one immersions to virtual and self-guided sessions that can be done from your own backyard or favorite local park. Regardless of the format, the intention is the same: to help you feel supported, reconnected, and more at ease within yourself and your surroundings.

How long are the sessions?

Sessions are offered in a 60-minute format, giving you space to move at the pace and depth that feels right for you. Each session is designed as a focused and restorative experience, a chance to ground, reflect, and gently reconnect with the natural world.

You’ll be guided through mindful practices and moments of quiet reflection, followed by personal integration notes sent afterward to help you carry the calm and clarity of the experience into your daily life.

How do you create my recording?

Each personalized recording begins with an exploratory call or short questionnaire to help me understand your needs, goals, and intentions. From there, I create a 60-minute custom session designed specifically for you. Your session begins with a settling-in and guided breathwork practice to help you arrive fully in the moment, followed by gentle guidance to observe and connect with the natural world in ways that support your goals. You’ll have quiet time for reflection and observation, along with guided prompts and mindfulness tools to help you deepen your awareness and understanding. The experience closes with a reflective integration to help you carry the insights forward into daily life.

You’ll receive your session as an audio file you can easily download and play anytime, a portable source of calm and grounding you can return to whenever you need it. You’ll also receive session notes and simple, repeatable practices to help you continue your connection with nature wherever you are.

How does the video call work?

Your virtual ecotherapy session is designed to bring the benefits of nature and mindful connection to wherever you are. Before the session, you’ll receive an email with simple guidance for preparing your space, ideally outdoors or near a window where you can see or feel the natural world.

At the scheduled time, we’ll connect through a live video call and move through a guided 60-minute experience that includes breathwork, sensory awareness, and mindful observation practices tailored to your needs and environment. You’ll be invited to engage with your surroundings in real time, using nature as both a mirror and a guide.

After the session, you’ll receive personalized notes and simple take-away practices to help you integrate what you experienced and continue the calm and clarity you found during our time together.

Are the sessions personalized?

Yes. Each session is thoughtfully customized to meet your specific goals, needs, and requests. Before we begin, we’ll talk about what you’re hoping to experience or explore, whether that’s finding calm, processing change, feeling more grounded, or simply creating space to breathe.

Your session is then shaped around those intentions and the season of life you’re in. No two experiences are the same; every session meets you where you are that day, allowing nature and your own awareness to guide the process.

What happens after the session?

After your session ends, you’re invited to stay in nature a little longer to walk, sit, or simply notice what’s around you. Many people find that the most meaningful insights arise in those quiet moments afterward, when there’s no rush to return or move on. I encourage you to give yourself that time to reflect, journal, or simply be, letting the experience settle naturally.

Once your session is complete, I’ll send personalized notes outlining the tools, practices, and reflections we explored. These notes are meant to help you integrate what you experienced and carry that sense of calm and connection into your everyday life.
